Located in Central Bangalore, Ulsoor is one of the oldest locality in Bangalore. It is believed to be a village gifted by Kempe Gowda who was the founder of Bangalore. The village was earlier known as Halasuru which means Jackfruit. The village is dominated with Kannada speaking people. The village is well known for Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha is located at Bhaskar Road near Ulsoor Lake. The sub-localities in Ulsoor are LBS Layout, Lingayana Palya, Dodakattapa, MV Garden, Appaiah Garden, Cambridge Layout, Someshwarpura, Murphy Town, Udani Layout. The village is well connected with Metro Line with Halasuru Metro Station. The Indiranagar Metro and Trinity Metro Station are in close proximity to the village.

Ulsoor is well connected with asphalt roads that are laid across every corner of the town. The most sophisticated location in Ulsoor is the Corporation Colony and Kallahalli which is dominated by huge open space and hockey ground. Kensington Gardens are located facing the Ulsoor Lake.
