Boat Club Road Overview

A prestigious address of Pune, Boat club road gets its name from the famous Royal Connaught Boat Club which is situated here. The Royal Connaught Boat Club (RCBC) registers its foundation in the year 1868 in Pune, India where it was named as “Poona Boat Club” on the banks of the river Mula-Mutha.

The origin of this Boat club has an interesting history behind it that dates back to British era. This club was formed as a result of merger of two old colonial clubs called R.A Boat club and Kirkee Boat club. Later this amalgamation was rechristened as "Royal Connaught Boat Club" in 1928.
